working on restoring physical function with you

Physiotherapy

“Physiotherapy can assist you to be more mobile and equip you with the physical capacity to engage in everyday tasks and skills”

Our physiotherapists work with adults with complex disabilities including those of a neurological (including spinal) origin, musculoskeletal presentation, degenerative conditions and orthopaedics/amputation to name a few.

Our male and female physiotherapists can assist you with simple and complex AT prescription, preparing functional capacity assessments for your plan review, supporting your independence with in home therapy and facilitating solutions for your manual handling requirements

physiotherapy Services

Manual handling assessment

Assessment and training of safe and empowering ways that your support workers can support your daily needs.

A Manual Handling Plan can be developed to provide a reference of these details.

Functional capacity assessment

A thorough assessment and report about the impact of your condition/ disability on the achievement of your goals, recommendations for assistive technology, complex formal support table outlining in specific detail the formal support hours you require in 24 hours over the course of the week, therapy and housing recommendations.

Assistive technology ‘AT’ scripting.

We work with local suppliers to script a broad range of equipment from simple low/cost low/risk AT to custom scripted wheelchairs, custom made hoist slings and many items in between!

In home therapy

Our physiotherapists can come to you in your home, workplace, day option venue – or a place in the community to provide you with capacity building therapies.

Our scope also includes specialty services to support neurological, CNS (brain/ spinal) needs, amputees and some basic respiratory support.

Therapy Assistants

Our level 2 therapy assistants are in their 3rd or 4th year in their relevant degree (physiotherapy/ OT) or hold a Certificate 4 in Allied Health Assistance and work under the direct direction of the treating therapist in between your therapy sessions.

With their higher level of skill, therapy assistants can provide a more tailored approach for more complex support needs than what might otherwise be provided by a support worker following a therapy plan.

In Clinic Therapy

Our practice in Mawson Lakes has a physically accessible space equipped with 1200mm automated flat entrance doorways (and lift), H frame ceiling hoist equipped with gait training capacity, parallel bars, plinths and countless therapy tools.

We have equipped it to cater for the most complex neurological presentations, so that anyone who visits our space will have as little or as much support as they require on their visit.
