Aidan is an Occupational Therapist at EquipT to Thrive. Originally from Far North Queensland, he graduated with Honours from James Cook University in Townsville in 2019 with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy.

Since then, Aidan has gained experience across a variety of healthcare settings, including community services and residential aged care, before joining EquipT to Thrive in 2022. He works with a diverse range of NDIS participants, supporting individuals with psychosocial, physical, neurological, and developmental conditions.

Aidan has a particular passion for assisting clients with complex assistive technology needs and home modifications. He is certified to undertake complex home modifications within the NDIS framework, helping clients enhance their independence, safety, and quality of life.

Outside of work, Aidan enjoys staying active, playing video games, cooking, various craft activities, and catching up with friends.

Angus is a compassionate and outcomes-focused Occupational Therapist with a strong commitment to empowering individuals to live more independently and safely. Since joining Equipt To Thrive / Safe Work Practice in April 2022, he has worked primarily within the NDIS framework, while also supporting older adults in Residential Aged Care settings.

With a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Flinders University and clinical registration through AHPRA, Angus brings a well-rounded skill set gained through diverse roles in both community-based and inpatient environments. His practice areas include functional capacity assessments, powered mobility devices, assistive technology, basic home modifications, skill development, and ongoing support planning.

Angus is particularly passionate about person-centred care. He takes the time to build genuine connections with clients, aiming to deeply understand their lived experiences, needs, and goals. This collaborative approach allows him to deliver practical, evidence-informed recommendations that enhance daily living and promote sustained independence and quality of life.

Angus continues to grow his clinical knowledge through reflective practice and professional development, with a strong belief in tailoring therapy to the unique journey of each individual he supports.

Jaime is an experienced Occupational Therapist who has been part of our team since 2017. She began her journey with Safe Work Practice and now works across both arms of the company, bringing a decade of diverse experience in the field.

Jaime commenced her OT career in the aged care sector, where she developed a deep appreciation for working with elderly residents—building meaningful relationships while supporting their rehabilitation and providing falls prevention education. Over seven years, she broadened her expertise across aged care, disability, and occupational health and safety before focusing her practice on disability and home modifications.

With a strong background in building and renovations, Jaime naturally gravitated toward complex home modifications within the NDIS space. She thrives on collaborating with clients, families, and builders to create functional, accessible, and user-friendly environments. Jaime is particularly skilled in developing comprehensive clinical reports, design diagrams, and sound clinical reasoning to support successful outcomes for complex bathroom modifications.

Her passion lies in supporting individuals with physical disabilities, where she specialises in assistive technology solutions including complex wheelchair prescription, hoists, beds, and manual handling equipment. Jaime is especially enthusiastic about educating support workers, families, and clients on safe manual handling techniques—finding great reward in promoting safety and preventing injury through practical education.

Outside of work, Jaime enjoys quality time with her two daughters, camping adventures, and staying creative with hands-on crafts.

At the heart of Jaime’s work is a genuine love for meeting new people, building connections, and empowering individuals to live as independently as possible.

Melissa is an experienced Occupational Therapist with two decades of practice in the field, and a genuine passion for making a difference. She graduated from the University of South Australia in 2003. Her extensive background includes roles in a diverse range of clinical areas, including acute care, rehabilitation, and community settings. Her experience also extends overseas, having worked in the UK and Canada, where she gained valuable insights and broadened her clinical expertise.

Throughout her career, Melissa has primarily supported adults with physical conditions and has extensive experience in working with individuals with neurological, spinal, orthopaedic, amputee and other complex presentations. She also has experience working with clients with psychosocial conditions. Passionate about supporting individuals with neurological conditions, Melissa has a special interest in the prescription of assistive technology, minor & complex home modifications and therapy/skill development, aiming to enhance independence in daily life.

One of Melissa’s greatest strengths is her empathetic and person-centred approach. She takes the time to understand each client’s unique circumstances, challenges, and goals, and is a dedicated advocate for their needs. Her compassionate nature ensures her clients feel heard and supported throughout their journey. Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family (husband, two school-aged children and small dog) as well as travelling, nature and beach walks, pilates and cooking/baking.

Sharmaine is an Occupational Therapist with Equipt To Thrive. She began working with the company in April 2022 and has since developed sound knowledge and clinical skills surrounding the NDIS sector and its complex processes. In 2025 Sharmaine was appointed the Principal Occupational Therapist, supporting the OT team with quality control and clinical support alongside other various areas of the company.

Sharmaine has developed exceptional skills in communication and report writing, and has the knowledge and skills to navigate and support clients of various complexities. Sharmaine has also undertaken training as a complex home assessor and has been working with clients and their support network to complete various minor and major home modifications to meet their long-term functional needs. Sharmaine has an interest in supporting clients with more complex needs as this encourages her to problem solve and challenge herself to become a better therapist and make a difference in those lives. Saying that, Sharmaine also has the capacity to work with those who require a gentle approach and need someone to listen and provide informative information to them.

Sharmaine graduated from the University of South Australia and began working in the Aged Care sector. Within two years she became a senior therapist and was involved in supporting various Aged Care facilities with ACFI assessments and manual handling training, training new allied health therapists and mentoring and supporting therapists across different sites in the northern region of Adelaide. During Sharmaine’s career in Aged Care, she developed her skills in not only providing great service to residents and staff in the facility, but she also developed necessary skills to effectively communicate and work alongside others to achieve goals.

Sharmaine proceeded to have three beautiful children and decided the aged care sector was no longer the best fit to suit her lifestyle. It was then she decided to move into the NDIS space where she would have more flexibility in her schedule and be able to use her skills more effectively to support participants with disabilities and be a part of that positive change.
